As an introvert, it can sometimes be quite difficult to show your talents well. Because you naturally prefer to stay in the background, you are not always seen enough. A few tips to ensure that your talents actually come into their own.

Ask for space your way

No, you don't have to shout from the rooftops every day how good you are. But you should be proud of the things you do, because they are not as obvious as you may think. By clearly stating at specific moments what your part has been in an assignment or project, you ensure that your performance is not lost. It may feel a little awkward at first, but you'll find it gets easier the more you do it.

Ask for feedback

Do you think everyone can see how much work you do every day? You probably misunderstand that. As humans, we are more focused on how our own performance relates to that of others, so that the focus is not automatically on that other person. Do you want to know what is and what is not seen by colleagues? Then actively ask about it, so that you get a better idea of how others see you. There are several options in my coaching trajectory to do this.

Know your own strength

As an introvert, do you think that everyone can listen and analyze as well as you? Nothing could be further from the truth, because these are typical advantages of introverts. For more extroverted people this is not always obvious, but as introverts we are often more focused on the extroverted qualities. We want to profile ourselves better and be able to network better, but in doing so we sometimes miss the unique strength that we have as an introvert. So look for what you naturally excel at. We also pay a lot of attention to this in the beginning of my coaching trajectory.

Tackle limiting beliefs

Even if you know your strengths, it can still be difficult to actually show them. Because you are afraid of the judgment of someone else, for example, or because of perfectionism that makes you think you need to get better at it first. These are all limiting beliefs that prevent you from coming out completely. The good news is that you can tackle those limiting beliefs, making it easier to take up the space you deserve. Of course this is also part of my trajectory.
